Full life!

Wow, I just realized how long it has been since I blogged! I am spending the day with my love and my little lady love, who is asleep in the backseat as we travel and Tyler is gone to a horse camp this weekend. I am not sure what made me even sign into my blog after a few years of no activity. Either I am really really bored while Kynlie sleeps and Scott is in his "preacher meeting" or God wants someone to read what is on my heart today. Scott and I have been talking today about the time years ago that I (me, myself, and I) cold-heartedly and Godlessly contemplated the "Big D". I can't imagine how empty my life would be now, had God not intervened. But my life is so FULL! I am not a counselor, but if anyone out there is struggling in a marriage, please take this advice. (It can't hurt. ;)) Stop living your life in autopilot. Start enjoying and cherishing every second that you are able to spend with your spouse. Spend time with each other because you want to, not just because you live together or only because you feel obligated to do things together as a family. Stop letting everything be "for you", "about you", "for the kids" or "about the kids". Do things to make your spouse happy. Be best friends. SHOW your spouse that you love him/her, so that it is known, without a shadow of a doubt. What a wonderful feeling! And most importantly, start centering that marriage around God. Go to church together. Pray together. Love God more than you love your spouse, and especially more than you love yourself. And if you are not yet in a relationship or if you are just in the beginning of one, take notes and do these things from the start so that you don't have to learn the hard way like I did. You, your marriage, and your family will be blessed because of it. Giving advice is not one of my strongest gifts, but there is a gift of hindsight, and it is most always 20/20. This gift is worthy of being shared. :)
